Southampton are ‘really excited’ about the prospect of luring Manchester City starlet Sam Edozie to St Mary’s ahead of the fast-approaching deadline, according to transfer insider Dean Jones. While Jan Bednarek appears to be on his way out of the club after a deal has been agreed with Aston Villa, Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl could still secure reinforcements ahead of tonight’s 11pm cut-off point.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Southampton are set to sign Manchester City youngsters Edozie and Juan Larios after agreeing a fee with the reigning Premier League champions.
It is understood that the duo are undergoing medicals ahead of being officially unveiled as Saints’ latest arrivals, while Manchester City have a buyback clause for both players.
The arrival of Edozie will reportedly set Southampton back £10million and left-back Larios is on the cusp of joining for £6million.
