Signed, sealed and delivered. Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of Ruben Amorim as their new head coach. The 39-year-old has agreed to replace Erik ten Hag as the next United boss and has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the option of a further 12 months.
Amorim will start work at Old Trafford during the November international break before then kickstarting his tenure against Ipswich on Sunday, November 24.
It means that the Portuguese will manage Sporting CP three more times, including next Tuesday's Champions League clash with Manchester City.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will stay on as interim head coach at United until Amorim's arrival after he started off his tenure with a 5-2 win over Leicester on Wednesday.
