Rio Ferdinand has slammed previous comments made by Jamie Carragher after Manchester United's defeat to Liverpool. Sunday saw United fall to a 3-0 loss at the hands of their bitter rivals at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

The defeat has resulted in criticism being directed at several members of the United squad, as well as manager Erik ten Hag.

One player whose performance against Liverpool was criticised was Casemiro. The Brazilian was involved in losing the ball prior to the visitors scoring their first two goals before being substituted at half-time to be replaced by Toby Collyer.

Carragher was joined by Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Daniel Sturridge in assessing Casemiro's performance against Liverpool. The analysis provided a throwback to a previous comment from Carragher last season, where he stated, 'Leave the football before the football leaves you'.
