Despite losing out on the defence of his championship, Toprak Razgatlioglu has been voted BSN’s WorldSBK rider of 2022. The Pata Yamaha rider claimed the reader vote for the second time in as many years, over eventual title-holder Alvaro Bautista with Jonathan Rea completing the top three, as the trio have repeatedly done across the 2022 season.

Top Independent rider Axel Bassani edged out Scott Redding by just three votes with Iker Lecuona’s impressive rookie season on the Honda completing the top six.

The Turkish rider also came out on top for BSN’s Overseas Rider of the Year after a dead-heat with MotoGP Champion Pecco Bagnaia.
