Reigning Player of the Year Emily Corbet makes Wexford Youths move

Reigning Women's National League Player of the Year Emily Corbet has signed for Wexford Youths.The forward played a starring role for Athlone Town in 2022, scoring 20 league goals, as the midlanders proved to be a surprise package on the way to finishing as league and FAI Cup runners-up.She now joins Wexford ahead of the start of the 2023 SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division season which will see Youths kick-off their campaign against Galway United on 4 March."Everyone in the club are delighted to welcome Emily into the Wexford Youths family," said Wexford manager Stephen Quinn of the club's new signing, who has been capped by Ireland at underage level."Emily is a highly-rated attacker, who will give us an added edge this season with her work-rate off the ball, her quality on the ball and as she proved last season she knows where the back of the net is."
