Rangers legend Craig Moore admits he has been left feeling "silly" over a feeling Michael Beale had assembled an Ibrox squad that was stronger that Celtic.

While international football takes centre stage, the Gers support are still reeling from derby day defeat from Brendan Rodgers’ side as the Hoops put down a marker for the Scottish Premiership title race this term.

Beale revamped the Light Blues squad with nine new recruits arriving this summer but only Jack Butland has managed to impress the support so far - leading to Moore to back track on one key area that Rangers are still lacking.

The Australian said: “I feel a little bit silly I’ve got to say because at the start of the season again, when I was looking on paper, the Celtic squad in terms of the lack of maybe business that they had done and the business that Rangers done, I’m going well, ‘Rangers are the strongest squad'. "I’ve said this a couple of times but paper doesn’t win you football matches.
