Rangers news bulletin on Hagi, Souttar and Hazard as Craig Moore feels 'silly' over transfer claim and downplaying Celtic

Rangers legend Craig Moore admits he has been left feeling "silly" over a feeling Michael Beale had assembled an Ibrox squad that was stronger that Celtic.

While international football takes centre stage, the Gers support are still reeling from derby day defeat from Brendan Rodgers’ side as the Hoops put down a marker for the Scottish Premiership title race this term. Beale revamped the Light Blues squad with nine new recruits arriving this summer but only Jack Butland has managed to impress the support so far - leading to Moore to back track on one key area that Rangers are still lacking.

The Australian said: “I feel a little bit silly I’ve got to say because at the start of the season again, when I was looking on paper, the Celtic squad in terms of the lack of maybe business that they had done and the business that Rangers done, I’m going well, ‘Rangers are the strongest squad'.

Free agent Eden Hazard has spoken for the first time on a potential retirement from the game after leaving Real Madrid – following speculation an "interesting proposal" had been pitched from an SPFL side.

Rumours swirled online Rangers were the unnamed club who had made a move from the Belgian international as they looked to seal a box office deal. The 32-year-old is a free agent after leaving Real Madrid but appears set to hang up his boots having already opted to step back from international duty – with the former Chelsea wide man dropping a hint that he was not focusing on an imminent move back into the game.
