Sneering Paul Parker has slammed the state of Scottish football and claims the game is up if Jack Butland can't cut it at Rangers.

The dismissive former Manchester United star admits he has serious concerns over the former England international's ambition after he decided to head north in the wake of his six-month loan at Old Trafford.

Butland became a free agent after been left with a watching brief at Crystal Palace before Michael Beale came calling. However, Parker – a star during the early years of the Sir Alex Ferguson era – reckons it is now or never for the 30-year-old.

Speaking to SpilXperten, Parker said: "Well, if he can't do well at Rangers in Scotland, then he has serious, serious problems.
