A popular food and drinks hub in Manchester’s city centre has announced it will be closing down at the end of the month. Hatch, located on the Oxford Road Corridor, will close on September 30 with the site now earmarked for redevelopment and planning applications already in the works from the Danieli Group and leisure chain STACK.

STACK, which already has experience in the North East of creating leisure hubs out of shipping containers as well as repurposing empty retail properties, is set to work similarly to Hatch where it will bring bringing street food and bars to a central plaza area with live entertainment. Permanent site staff are currently undergoing a period of consultation. Following Hatch's closure, ÖL Brewery will continue to operate during the redevelopment process.

First opened in December 2017, the award-winning Hatch, run by Bruntwood, provided a space for independent businesses to innovate and grow and quickly became a focal spot for diners and drinkers.
