Police rush to motorway in early hours after bricks thrown at cars

Children were caught throwing bricks at cars on the M56 motorway in the early hours of this morning. In a tweet posted at around 2.35am today (Thursday), motorway police said they were 'dealing with youths throwing cones, bricks and stones' as passing cars.

The children were spotted on the motorway near junction 5, close to Manchester Airport. Police said they were also there the night before, sparking them to ask parents 'do you know where your children are?'.

The tweet posted by the North West Motorway Police said: "An age old question, do parents know where their children are? "We are currently dealing with youths throwing cones /bricks and stones at passing vehicles on M56 around junction 5, they were there last night and are here again, a number of vehicles have been damaged."
