Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola rejected the opportunity to manage England - but hopes to be managing a national side between the next two World Cups.
The 53-year-old was widely rumoured to be on the FA's shortlist for the Three Lions' managerial position. However, the role eventually went to former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, who was handed an 18-month contract.
Guardiola's current deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to end next summer, and the former Barcelona manager has not yet decided whether he will continue at the club.
However, BBC reporter Guillem Balague suggests that Guardiola was offered the role by the FA and could potentially take up the reins of the national team in the future.
