Sam Maguire teams are on a rest week so it's all Tailteann Cup. We've got the preliminary quarter-finals. It's our first taste of knockout football this year so hopefully we have some good games in store. Saturday 10 June Offaly v Wexford, Glenisk O'Connor Park, 4pm Offaly are favourites going into this one, they're at home. They'd a tough loss last week to Cavan.
They lost a couple of players to red cards, Dylan Hyland and Jack McEvoy. But they rested a few lads too so it's really hard to know where Offaly are at.Wexford, on the other hand, didn't have a good league campaign but have found a little bit of form in the Tailteann Cup.Darragh Brooks, last week, kicked a few beauties.
As did Mark Rossiter. They need those guys performing. I think they can.I think Wexford can just about upset the odds here and just about get a victory. Verdict: Wexford Carlow v New York, Netwatch Cullen Park, 5pm Darragh Foley kicked 0-08 for Carlow last week to get them over the line against Longford. It's hard to know where New York are at after their win against Leitrim in the first round of the championship, Sligo subsequently beating them.I think Carlow will have too much in Dr Cullen Park.
A Carlow win. Verdict: Carlow Fermanagh v Laois, Brewster Park, 6pm Both teams didn't really have a good weekend last week.
