Leicester City were 3-1 winners over East Midlands rivals Derby County in the first of two friendlies on Saturday. Goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, Patson Daka and Callum Wright at Pride Park saw City record their second win in as many games.
Here’s the main talking points from the clash... Youri Tielemans is one of the players to be most heavily linked with a move away from the club this season, but the midfielder is showing no sign that his mind is on anything other than Leicester City.
Brendan Rodgers revealed last weekend that he was set to have a chat with the midfielder over his future, and it can be assumed that the chat went well, with Tielemans wearing the captain’s armband for the first half of the 4-0 win over Hull City on Wednesday and then impressing again at Derby.
While there were whispers surrounding Tielemans being included in the squad to play Derby - the perceived weaker group compared to that which played, and beat, Preston - he was again given the captain’s armband.
