Dimitar Berbatov believes Omar Berrada has made a "step up" by leaving Manchester City to join Manchester United. Berrada left his role as chief football operations officer at City to take on the role of chief executive at United earlier this month.

The appointment is one of the first following the investment from INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe which was announced last month.

Berrada had previously worked at the Etihad Stadium for more than 12 years, having been hired back in 2011. He will now be working at Old Trafford as the new era at the club begins under Ratcliffe's leadership.

City boss Pep Guardiola was asked about Berrada's switch from the Etihad to Old Trafford and insisted there was no animosity because of the move.
