The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has asked the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to award three points and three goals to the Super Eagles as compensation for the trauma they passed through in Libya when they went to honour an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Mediterranean Knights. The CAF Disciplinary Committee will begin sitting in Cairo, Egypt, which is the football body’s headquarters contrary to earlier reports that it would sit at the African Union Headquarters in Ethiopia.Libya were billed to host Nigeria in a Group D Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Benghazi, on October 15, but the Super Eagles boycotted the match when their plane was diverted to Al Abraq Airport, where they were held for over 16 hours without food, water or access to the Internet. After boycotting the game, Nigeria petitioned the CAF over their “inhumane” treatment by Libya, just as the Libya Football Federation (LFF) appointed a lawyer to defend it against the charges and possibly award the match to it.CAF last week appointed a committee to investigate the incident and punish any of the parties found culpable in the crisis. The body, which gave the two parties to the dispute up till last Sunday to submit documents to back their claims in the dispute, will start sitting tomorrow and deliver its verdict this week.NFF Media Director, Ademola Olajire, said the Nigerian team in Cairo is demanding that CAF award three points and three goals to Nigeria or in the alternative order for the replay of the game in a neutral country.“We are demanding the full measure of the law, which is the three points and three goals to Nigeria and a hefty fine to dissuade other countries from toeing Libya’s path.“If CAF cannot award the game to us,
