National U-18, U-20 handball teams set for IHF championships

HandballNigeria’s male U-18 and U-20 national handball teams are scheduled to participate in the International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy 2022 from November 21 to 27, 2022 in Cote d’Ivoire.

The championships are the last for the Africa Zone. The two teams, coached by Emeka Nnamani (U-18) and Fidelis Obi (U-20), are currently training at Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba, Lagos.

According to the Handball Federation of Nigeria’s (HFN) Media Assistant, Cosmos Chukwuemeka Akisi, some of the players invited into the camp for the IHF duties were involved in the just concluded 2022 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

Coaches Nnamani of the U-18 and Obi of U-20 teams have testified to having the best experience at the Rowe Park Sports Centre camp.The Guardian recalls that previous IHF Trophy 2022, Africa Zone Championships were held in Harare, Zimbabwe; Moroni, Comoros; Nairobi, Kenya and very recently Conakry, Guinea.Follow Us
