Mohamed Salah finally got himself back on the scoresheet in Liverpool colours during the team’s 2-1 win over Ajax.
Going into the Champions League encounter, the Egyptian forward had scored just two goals in six Premier League matches, the last of them coming in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
For a player of Salah’s unquestionable quality, that’s a very poor return, but he looked back somewhere close to his best against Ajax.
Salah’s goal at Anfield – which was expertly finished his left peg – has also seen him move ahead of Steven Gerrard as Liverpool’s record scorer in Champions League action with 15.
