Mo Salah: Liverpool star thought female reporter was trying to kiss him after 2019 CL final

Mohamed Salah finally got himself back on the scoresheet in Liverpool colours during the team’s 2-1 win over Ajax.

Going into the Champions League encounter, the Egyptian forward had scored just two goals in six Premier League matches, the last of them coming in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

For a player of Salah’s unquestionable quality, that’s a very poor return, but he looked back somewhere close to his best against Ajax.

Salah’s goal at Anfield – which was expertly finished his left peg – has also seen him move ahead of Steven Gerrard as Liverpool’s record scorer in Champions League action with 15.

Not bad, Mo.

Salah often thrives in club football’s biggest competition and played a crucial role in Liverpool’s triumph in 2018/19.

The former Chelsea man scored five goals in the Champions League that season, including one from the penalty spot in the 2-0 final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

And after that famous win at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, which was secured by Divock Origi’s late goal, Salah was involved in a rather wholesome and light-hearted moment on the pitch.

During a post-match interview with female reporter, Isabel Forner, Salah backed away and held up his hand with a smile on his face when Forner leaned in to ask a question.

The journalist wanted to make herself heard due to the noise inside the stadium, but it seems the Liverpool man mistakenly thought she was actually leaning in for a kiss – which, of course, she wasn’t.

Check out footage of the incident…

Mo Salah thought the reporter was going in for a kiss so decided to go for the hand raise!
