Manchester United took a big step towards securing Champions League qualification after beating Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Erik ten Hag's won 1-0 against the Midlands outfit thanks to Bruno Fernandes' 39th-minute strike. The victory saw the Reds strengthen their hopes of a top-four finish this season, while also increasing the gap between themselves and Unai Emery's side in the top-flight table.
The Reds dropped Antony and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to the bench for the game at Old Trafford, with Ten Hag explaining before the match that it was partly down to tactical reasons.
Meanwhile, midfielder Donny van de Beek confirmed his recovery from a long-term injury is heading in the right direction. Away from the pitch, United fans protested against the Glazers ahead of the clash with Villa, with about 1,000 supporters gathering in the city centre before marching to Old Trafford.
