Manchester United have been told they must pay £74million to sign Florian Wirtz - according to reports. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen and is widely regarded as one of the top young players in Europe right now.
Wirtz has been capped 12 times by the Germany national team. Despite boasting Bruno Fernandes in his preferred No.10 position, United are reportedly interested in Wirtz as they plot a possible swoop for him next summer.
However, they will have to spend big to land the player. Reports from Sport Witness outline the Leverkusen starlet as a would-be target for Erik ten Hag as the Dutchman prepares to continue his rebuild.
Manchester Evening News understands Ten Hag is, initially, planning to make four key signings next summer with a new attacker featuring on his shopping list.
