Manchester United takeover latest with sale clarity ‘expected next week’

The longer the Manchester United takeover process rolls on, the more fearful fans are becoming that the Glazers may stay. The process is now into its eighth month with little sign of how and when it will conclude.

Any changeover will now eek into next season with an official changing of hands due to take a number of weeks as various regulation checkpoints are dealt with.

Sir Dave Brailsford, INEOS sporting director, said last week that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still hopeful of a majority takeover.

It’s been suggested that he may keep Avram and Joel Glazer on as minority shareholders. Meanwhile, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani is seeking a 100 per cent buy-out and is pledging to wipe the club debts.
