Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are expected to be among the Manchester United players released in the summer. Jones, 31, has started two games in three years due to a knee problem while fellow centre-back Tuanzebe, 25, has not played for United since the Europa League final in 2021.

Jones has not trained all season and was last visible in a session at Carrington on May 20. He has started 16 times since signing a new contract in February 2019 and was substituted at half-time in five of them. Northern Ireland midfielder Ethan Galbraith, currently on loan at League Two side Salford, has been informed he will be let go at the end of his contract.
