Former Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick advised the club to sign Monaco ace Aurelien Tchouameni before he departed Old Trafford.

The Frenchman is set to move to the Bernabeu after Real agreed a £68million deal with Monaco on Friday. The 22-year-old had been one of the most sought-after players in world football after his eye-catching displays for Monaco last term.

Liverpool had been heavily linked with a move for Tchouameni but according to Andy Mitten, Rangnick was insistent on United moving for the France international.

The German was scathing of United’s transfer strategy and said the club could sign up to ten players this summer before he departed.
