Manchester United are still ‘thinking’ of bringing Ajax winger Antony to the club this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Brazil international has been the subject of United’s interest for several weeks now, but so far, they have been unwilling to match his hefty price tag.
Last month, a report from GOAL revealed that the Red Devils have offered €60 million (£51m) for Antony but the Ajax hierarchy are holding out for a fee closer to €80m (£68m).
However, United have prised centre-back Lisandro Martinez away from the Johan Cruijff ArenA since then, causing the reigning Eredivisie champions to up their asking price.
The Daily Mail have now disclosed that Ajax have now placed an £84m price tag on Antony in order to underline that he is not for sale to his potential suitors.
