Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho may have to get used to the bench, says journalist Pete O’Rourke. The 22-year-old started the season strongly under new manager Erik ten Hag, but his form has dipped and he has since lost his place in the team.
United legend Rio Ferdinand recently spoke about Sancho, stating that he was concerned about what he has seen from the English youngster following his £73m move (via BBC Sport) from Borussia Dortmund last year.
Discussing Sancho on his YouTube channel FIVE, he said: “I haven’t seen [his Bundesliga form] yet. That’s the concerning thing for me. "If I'm Jadon Sancho, or in Jadon Sancho's camp, I am looking at ways in which I can unpick his game, his mind, to unearth the Sancho that made him a coveted talent around Europe." Sancho showed glimpses of his Dortmund form earlier in the season after he netted against Liverpool and Leicester City.
However, he has not scored in the Premier League since the win versus the Foxes and was benched for United's last outing in the English top flight.
