A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing a pensioner's death by careless driving after a collision in Stockport, police revealed today.
A car collided with the pedestrian on Town Street, near the junction with Hollins Lane, in Marple Bridge at around 5.10pm on Friday, GMP said.
The 70-year-old man, who hasn't been named, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. A GMP spokesman said in a statement on Saturday that sadly, he passed away after being taken to hospital. In a statement today, GMP said: "Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Stockport last night (Friday 29 December).
