Manchester City are set to receive a cash boost at the 2026 World Cup after FIFA agreed a new deal for clubs that have players attending the tournament.

In just under four years' time, Canada, Mexico and the United States will be hosting the prestigious tournament as it reverts back to the summer following its temporary shift to the winter to accommodate the scorching temperatures in Qatar.

A whopping 16 City players travelled to the Middle East in November for the World Cup which would ultimately see Argentina take home the trophy.

Thanks to those call-ups, City received £3.25million from FIFA for allowing their players to attend thanks to an agreement the governing body has with all domestic clubs.
