Man City 'preparing for contract talks with Erling Haaland' and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly preparing to open talks with Erling Haaland over a new contract after his scintillating first season with the club.

According to Football Insider, the Blues are keen to reward the Norwegian ace for his incredible goalscoring return, with the 22-year-old having registered 50 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions this season.

His current deal runs until 2027, but City are keen to extend his stay. It was widely reported that his current deal initially contained a release clause worth £150million, which was scheduled to become active in 2024.

However, it is thought that was removed when Pep Guardiola signed a two-year contract extension with City in November 2022.
