More heavy rain could bring travel disruption and flooding across south Wales on Friday. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain covering the area which runs until midnight, following a similar alert on Thursday.The forecasting agency says that heavy rain may lead to some travel disruption and flooding in places and that it is likely further warnings will be issued across the weekend.

The Met Office has also given its verdict on the reported mini UK heatwave later this month.There are very difficult driving conditions on the M4 on Friday morning, with a crash closing the road between junction 49 of the M4 at Pont Abraham and the A483 in Carmarthenshire.

Traffic Wales says: "Closed in both directions due to collision. Police at scene . Updates will be issued. Please find alternative route at this time."There was also heavy congestion heading westbound during the rush hour after vehicle broke down in the Newport area.
