A man has died after being hit by a lorry, the Manchester Evening News understands. The A56 Bury New Road is closed in both directions near to the B6473 Radcliffe New Road, according to local traffic alerts.
Emergency services have been scrambled to the incident, with the North West Ambulance Service confirming two ambulances were sent to the scene shortly after 1.24pm this afternoon.

In a tweet, Transport for Greater Manchester said: "The A56 Bury New Road/B6473 Radcliffe New Road. Due to a road traffic collision, there are road closures in place at this junction. "Alternative traffic routes via M60/M66, Moss Lane or Higher Lane.
