A road in Bolton has been shut off this afternoon as emergency services respond to a serious crash. A stretch of Darwen Road in Bromley Cross is currently cordoned off.
Police officers, firefighters and paramedics are on the scene. The extent of the injuries in the crash has not yet been confirmed.
People have been urged to avoid the area with diversions in place around the scene. The extent of the injuries sustained are not known this time, this is an ongoing serious incident." A tweet posted by the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Our crews are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on Darwen Road, Bromley Cross.
