LIVE: M60 blocked with huge delays due to 'animals in road' - latest updates

A stretch of the M60 is blocked this morning due to animals in the road. The anticlockwise carriageway is blocked from junction 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield to junction 16 for Pendlebury, according to traffic alert service Inrix.

Huge queues are building up to the incident. Congestion is currently back to junction 18 for the M66/M62 Simister Island. According to traffic alert service Inrix, all lanes have now been reopened. 'Severe delays' remain with travel time through the area currently more than an hour.
