Live M6 traffic updates as crash leaves motorway closed - latest
All traffic has been stopped on the M6 which has been temporarily closed due to an ongoing incident this evening (Tuesday, October 28).
Emergency services at at the scene of a major collision on the northbound carriageway between J21 for Woolston and J21A for the M62 and Croft Interchange.
Traffic is currently building in the area with over three miles of congestion and delays of at least 30 minutes, National Highways said.

According to live traffic service Inrix, there are 'severe delays' on the northbound carriageway this evening.
The northbound side remains blocked with congestion backed up to junction 20 for Lymm Interchange.
No further details about the incident have been released.
Highways North West has said there are delays of at least 30 minutes tonight following a crash involving a number of vehicles.
According to the latest update from traffic service Inrix, all traffic has been stopped on the northbound carriageway tonight.
The update reads: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston) to J21A M62 J10 (Croft Interchange)."
