Kevin Nisbet is set to make it an Aberdeen hat-trick in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad. The striker is expected to be called up for the weekend Nations League trip to Croatia and next week’s Hampden clash with Portugal.

Dons pair Nicky Devlin and Jack MacKenzie have already been called up. Nisbet, who has three goals in seven games, has been a big player for the Dons, as they have made a 100 per cent start under Jimmy Thelin.

Nisbet moved to Pittodrie on loan from Millwall and admitted getting back into the Scotland squad was a major driver. The 27-year-old, who has 11 caps, missed Euro 2024 because he was just returning from injury.

Clarke named Che Adams, Lyndon Dykes and Lawrence Shankland as his original three strikers. Shankland has joined up with the squad but has had a slight issue with a hamstring from the weekend.
