Kevin De Bruyne contract stance and Man City state of play amid Saudi transfer interest

Manchester City have missed Kevin De Bruyne this season during his long lay-off. The Belgian wasted little time on his return form hamstring surgery with instant impacts against Huddersfield and Newcastle, and he has more assists than any other player in the squad despite having spent five months on the sidelines.

A groin injury is being managed during the international break in the hope Pep Guardiola can see the best out of him in the big games remaining.

That said, it has been frustrating for De Bruyne to pick up some minor injuries on the back of two major ones going back to last season.

With his contract up at the end of next season and with interest from the Saudi Pro League in making him a marquee signing this summer, there could be pressure put on De Bruyne's situation.
