Jude Gallagher and Kelyn Cassidy march on at Olympic qualifiers

Two more Irish boxers progressed at the the Olympic qualifiers in Italy on Monday.On Sunday, Martin McDonagh and Daina Moorehouse got the job done, and they were joined by Jude Gallagher and Kelyn Cassidy at the E-Work Arena in Busto Arsizio.Tyrone feathwerweight Gallagher had too much for Algerian Hichem Maouche, pevailing on a unanimous decision.

Gallagher is up again on Friday against India’s Husam Mohammed.Waterford man Cassidy got the better of Greek opponent Michail Tsamalidis by a unanimous decision in their light heavyweight tussle to make the last 32, where he'll take on Guatemala’s Wyatt Trujillo.There was disappointment however for Jenny Lehane who lost on a split decision against France's Romane Moulai.All fighters will seal a ticket to the Paris Games if they make it as far as the semi-finals.
