Coronation Street fans were confused after a killer was finally revealed with a big twist. In shock scenes, the identity of the person who killed young waitress Charlie Walter was disclosed, and many viewers weren't expecting it.
Soap watchers are aware that chef Stu Carpenter served 27 years for murder after being wrongly imprisoned for the death of Charlie, who he was having an affair with.
After being released from prison he ended up jobless and homeless. Last year he was befriended by teen Kelly Neelan, who helped to get him off the streets, and he found employment as a chef at Speed Daal and a home at 6 Coronation Street with restaurant owner Yasmeen Nazir.
Yasmeen, her granddaughter Alya and solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey have been fighting to clear his name for the murder and he has also been reunited with his daughter Bridget Woodrow and met his granddaughter Eliza for the first time, which was met with strong disapproval from his ex wife Lucy.
