Defiant Lewis Ferguson says his "Scottish mentality" got him through his Bologna injury nightmare, as the Serie A side get set to welcome back their battling captain.
Scotland midfielder Ferguson went from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows when a horror knee injury ended his season in April and shattered his Euro 2024 dream.
He was voted the best midfielder in Italy last season and looked set to play a big role for Steve Clarke's team at the Euros, with the vultures swirling ahead of a mega-money transfer.
But a brutal ACL setback shelved him for six months and he's only now on the verge of a return. Bologna have rolled out the red carpet for him as he could make his first appearance since April 13 against Cagliari this weekend.
