Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has responded to praise from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for their victory over Manchester United.
The Magpies produced a dominant display against United at St. James’ Park, last month. It was Anthony Gordon’s goal that proved to be the difference between the two sides, despite Newcastle having 22 shots on goal as they put an end to United’s run of form.
Ten Hag’s side headed into that game on a run of five victories in six and have since lost that level of consistency, winning just two of their next seven league matches.
However, Newcastle have fared much worse, losing six games across all competitions in the same period of time to leave themselves ninth in the table.
