Ace left-arm spinning allrounder Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be not a part of the squad after having suffered a bad “training-related” injury during the recent Asia Cup in UAE.

As per reports, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who had missed out on Asia Cup, are set to make a comeback in the squad, as they’ve recovered from their injuries and have been training regularly at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

With 19 wickets, Harshal has been India’s second-highest wicket-taker in T20Is this year, with only Bhuvneshwar Kumar (31) ahead of him.

It would be interesting to see who makes way for these two pacers, with Avesh Khan being most likely one of them. It would be difficult for India to keep out left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh, who was very impressive during the Asia Cup.

The 2022 T20 World Cup is just around the corner as the tournament gets underway on October 16 in Australia. Rohit Sharma-led Team India would open their campaign on October 23 against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The management right now is sweating over the fitness of lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah and if reports are to be believed by, it does not look promising in terms of his availability for the marquee event.
Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf is banking on his knowledge gained from the Big Bash League to outsmart Indian batters in the marquee clash of the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23. The arch-rivals, who don't play bilateral series due to geo-political tensions, will clash for a fourth time in one year at the MCG. "If I give my best, they won't be able to play me easily. For the upcoming World Cup match, I'm very happy because it is at the Melbourne Cricket Ground," Rauf, who plays for Melbourne Stars in the BBL, said in the post-match interaction after their six-run win over England.
Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli will have to be in their best form and also get adequate support from likes of all-rounder Hardik Pandya as the shortest format of the game is pretty unpredictable. ICC T20 World Cup is set to begin from October 16 and will go on till November 13. "We have already seen that the shortest format of the game is anybody's game.
Rohit Sharma wants to give wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik more time in the middle before the team heads Down Under for the T20 World Cup next month. The team has been alternating between Karthik and Rishabh Pant in their playing XI. While the young keeper was given the nod ahead of the veteran player in the Asia Cup, Karthik was picked for all three matches against Australia. “I wanted both of these guys to have a number of games under their belt before the World Cup. When we went to the Asia Cup both of these guys were in the fray to play all games," Rohit said at the post-match press conference after India clinched the three-match series against Australia on Sunday. “But I just feel that Dinesh needs a little more game time. He hardly got to bat (this series). Just maybe three balls. So that's not enough time,” Rohit added.
A tried and tested Indian squad has been named for the T20 World Cup 2022. The squad bore a striking resemblance to the one that played in the recently-concluded Asia Cup, barring the exception of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel - both of whom made a return to the squad after recuperating from injuries. In the spin department, India has gone ahead with three specialists - Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel. Former Indian cricket team player Sanjay Manjrekar gave his take on the spin troika.
