The 2022 T20 World Cup is just around the corner as the tournament gets underway on October 16 in Australia. Rohit Sharma-led Team India would open their campaign on October 23 against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The management right now is sweating over the fitness of lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah and if reports are to be believed by, it does not look promising in terms of his availability for the marquee event.

Former England pacer Ryan Sidebottom spoke to NDTV earlier this week on the sidelines of Legends League Cricket, where he opened up on the chances of India and England at the T20 World Cup. "I think India and England are going to be up there come the World Cup," Sidebottom told NDTV. "It is great to see Virat Kohli back in the runs, he looks very dangerous," he went on to say. "If India get the bowling together, they will be a force to reckon with," he said. "England are in good form, so those two teams, you would say, are right up there.

Australia, Sri Lanka have just won the Asia Cup. All teams are in decent form, so I think it would be a really good and entertaining World Cup," said Sidebottom about other teams' chances.

Rohit Sharma-led Team India might have won the T20I series against Australia and South Africa on home soil, however, there are some big concerns as the team gears up to take part in the T20 World Cup in Australia. If the side wants to win the marquee event, all three departments of the game need to work in unison, which has not happened for Rohit Sharma and co off late. Death bowling has emerged as one of the biggest concerns for the side, and with Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out of the tournament, one does not know how the side can fix the problem that is quickly turning out to be their achilles' heel.
India head coach Rahul Dravid on Tuesday admitted that Jasprit Bumrah's absence from the upcoming T20 World Cup due to a back injury will be a "big loss" for the team but said it opens up an opportunity for some other player to stand up and perform. The BCCI on Monday announced that pace spearhead Bumrah will miss the showpiece event in Australia, dealing a blow to the Indian team which has been facing problems in death overs bowling.
Jasprit Bumrah was on Monday officially ruled out of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia, BCCI informed through a press release. Bumrah had been earlier ruled out of the ongoing T20I series against South Africa due to a back injury.
