How Manchester United could still sell players after transfer deadline day

Manchester United’s battle with Premier League spending rules has been well documented this summer as Sir Jim Ratcliffe increases his grip on transfer activity.

Dan Ashworth and his recruitment team are thought to be pleased with how their first window has panned out, with four arrivals soon turning into five upon Manuel Ugarte’s unveiling.

His transfer will see the club’s net spend rise to around £110million amid a supposed target of £50m, but the scheduled exit of Scott McTominay and probable departure of Jadon Sancho will help to bring down that figure.

While 11pm on Friday marks the deadline for transfer arrivals across Europe’s biggest leagues, United still have an opportunity to offload players for another few days.
