Heavy M4 traffic after fire involving vehicle containing gas cylinders - live updates

There is heavy traffic after the M4 closed suddenly in Neath Port Talbot due to a vehicle fire. The vehicle contained gas cylinders and motorists are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

The M4 westbound from Junction 37 and and Junction 40 Taibach has now re-opened but there is heavy congestion in the area, with travel time currently 40 minutes.
