Going into the summer knowing that he needed to strengthen his goalkeeping department ahead of the new Championship campaign, Nathan Jones has now ticked that box off at Luton Town with the arrivals of Matt Macey and Ethan Horvath.  The Hatters had to dip into the emergency loan market in different stages during the latter stages of the season, with James Shea now out for the unforeseeable future.

Horvath, who has arrived on a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest, proved to be effective when called upon at The City Ground last time out.

Delivering his thoughts on Luton’s latest arrival, Carlton Palmer answered whether he can see Horvath playing regularly at Kenilworth Road in conversation with Football League World: “Yeah, Yeah I do. “I think that he’s (Nathan Jones) brought in good competition. “It’s always good to have competition for all places when you can but I think Horvath will start, he’s a good goalkeeper and it’s a great bit of business by Luton Town.” The verdict  The Hatters have added strong competition to the ranks in the goalkeeping department, and with Harry Isted still around, Jones will certainly feel comfortable.

With Horvath showing his ability in glimpses in the Championship last year, and with a World Cup around the corner, he will be hoping to see regular minutes at Kenilworth Road.
