Gillingham have gone back to their roots with the design of the club’s newly revealed away kit. The black and white stripes are a nod the the club’s original colours when they first formed as New Brompton.

It’s not the first time the club have gone for the black and white away strip, using those colours as part of the 125th anniversary season.

Fans have again reacted well to the latest reveal, modeled by defender Max Ehmer. Steve Knight said he loved the new design while Harry Beale said the club had “absolutely smashed both home and away kits.” Gemma Johnson loved it too, writing on Twitter: “Absolutely brilliant!

That’s a beauty!” #BackToOurRoots ⚫️⚪️ pic.twitter.com/vnFPQhRe4X The launch of the away kit comes four days after the new home strip was revealed - with fans giving that one the thumbs up.
