Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong is set to remain at Barcelona this summer and snub a move to Old Trafford. That's according to Sport, which claims the Dutchman is prepared to accept a pay cut in order to remain at the Nou Camp.
The midfielder was United' s priority target this summer, but the club made no progress in discussions to sign the player due to his deferred wage contract issue and that led the club to sign Casemiro.
United's Premier League rival Chelsea expressed an interest in De Jong earlier this summer, with Liverpool also said to be keen on the Dutchman.
The former Ajax man has made two appearances for the Catalan club so far this season.
