Midfielder Fred has all but confirmed his exit from Manchester United after making a key alteration to his Facebook page. United, who will get their Premier League campaign up and running at home to Wolves on Monday evening, issued a statement on Friday evening to confirm that they had reached an agreement in principle with Turkish side Fenerbahce to sell the Brazilian.
It is understood that the Reds have accepted an offer of €15million (£12.93m). Fred, who played no part in the club's pre-season tour of the United States, is scheduled to fly to Turkey on Saturday to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches to the move.
United were always intent on selling him this summer. The club were, of course, determined to bolster their midfield options this summer with a younger operator, highlighting why they moved for Chelsea ace Mason Mount last month.
