Folkestone Invicta boss Andy Drury believes the break has come at a good time for his team. They’ve got time to reflect on a busy first month of the season and Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at home to Billericay - overshadowed by a dismissal for Tom Derry that went viral online.

It’s been a mixed bag for Drury’s side, taking four points from their first two games and heading for another before the match at Wingate was abandoned late on at 3-3.

A win over Hastings came in between defeats to Cray Valley, Ramsgate in the FA Cup and Billericay at the weekend. Derry’s red card was their fourth dismissal of the season so far.

Drury, speaking to Invicta TV, said: “We have three or four playing with injuries, knocks and niggles, so we probably need it (a break).
