Everton manager Frank Lampard is still pushing for a new forward signing at Goodison Park ahead of the 11pm deadline and will be ready to ‘scramble’ for one in the final hours, according to journalist Simon Phillips. Lampard has overseen a busy few months of business on the blue half of Merseyside this summer but is running out of time to bolster his squad further.
Last week saw Everton complete the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion striker Neal Maupay to add some much-needed options to their attack.
This summer saw Richarlison sold to Tottenham Hotspur, leaving Lampard short of one of his heroes of last season, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains sidelined with an injury.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Salomon Rondon has been told to find a new club by the Toffees ahead of the 11pm deadline, indicating that he will not be used by Lampard moving forward.
