Everton boss Sean Dyche confirms huge injury blow ahead of Man City clash

Seamus Coleman has undergone an operation on a knee injury and will not be back in action this season for Everton, boss Sean Dyche has confirmed ahead of the clash against Manchester City.

The veteran defender had to be stretchered off for the Toffees during the 2-2 draw against Leicester City. Despite the concern at being taken off the pitch, the 34-year-old confirmed on social media that he has not suffered ACL damage.

Next up for Everton are City, who are at the summit of the top flight by a point ahead of title rivals Arsenal. Pep Guardiola's side also have a game in hand over Mikel Arteta's oufit and are in pole position to retain their title. Demarai Gray netted after the break to stun the Etihad and cancel out Erling Haaland's first half opener. Coleman missed the 5-1 victory on the road against Brighton & Hove Albion and has also had an operation on the knee injury.
